Fort those patients visiting our Ashton Gardens site at the Chadwell Heath Health Centre, you may find the blood taking service at the same centre convenient.
If you are not fasting for your blood test, it may be advisable to arrive after noon for your test when wait times are generally shorter
General pathology are not able to bleed any children under 3 years old in either blood test areas at Queen’s or King George Hospitals. For children under 3, please telephone Children’s OPD at Queen’s Hospital on 01708435289 to make an appointment.
Tests requiring patients to fast overnight
If you have been asked to fast overnight, unless specifically directed otherwise, the fasting period should be from 10pm until after the blood has been taken. During the fasting period, only water and normal medication should be taken as directed.
Labeling your own specimen containers
Please ensure specimen containers are labeled with the patient’s FIRST & LAST NAMES, DATE OF BIRTH AND GENDER. Date and time when specimen was collected would also be helpful.
The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. We will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
