Occupational Health – Hepatitis B Vaccination
Hepatitis B Vaccination is not available for those who feel they need cover because of their occupation or other reasons. Patients should speak to their employer who is responsible for arranging vaccination.
Meningitis C Vaccination
If you are starting University this year, or intend to start, you should get the Meningitis C vaccination before you go.
Meningococcal group C disease is a rare but life threatening disease that occurs mainly in young children and young adults. You are more at risk of getting meningitis just after starting university as you will be mixing closely with lots of new people some of whom may unknowingly carry the meningococcal bacteria.
You may have received a MenC vaccination as a small child, but your immunity will have decreased and a further vaccination is recommended.
There is more information about the MenC vaccination on the NHS Choices website at www.nhs.uk/conditions/Meningitis/Pages/Introduction.aspx
Vaccination is available at the practice for a limited time. To book your appointment please call 01708 629733 and request a MenC vaccination appointment.
