On the 19th July 2021 the UK Government will be lifting certain Covid-19 restrictions making social distancing and the wearing of face coverings optional rather than obligatory. As a practice we will not be enforcing any of the above, but would encourage all patients to wear masks and socially distance within either of our premises where possible. This is to safeguard both staff and vulnerable patients against potential Covid-19 carriers.
As we have done from the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic we will continue to assess patients both virtually (by telephone calls and video conference calling) and face to face. All clinicians will continue to wear PPE and adhere to strict hand hygiene during physical examinations. There will no longer be a designated exit and instead patients are welcome to enter and leave through our main doors.
Please note any patient requesting an on-the-day face-to-face appointment will be offered a telephone assessment by a clinician first. This is to screen for potential Covid-19 symptoms and follows the “Total Triage” approach advocated by NHS England. Patients with Covid-19 symptoms may be redirected to a designated “Hot Hub” site or the local Emergency Department where appropriate
